Getting Here

Kadampa Meditation Center New York is located at 47 Sweeney Road in Glen Spen, NY. By car, you can arrive from New York City in about 2 hours, depending on traffic. There are also train and bus options available from NYC and other major transportation hubs. Port Jervis, NY and Matamoras, PA are the closest public transit stops to KMC NY. We recommend traveling to these stops where possible, but are providing all the options below.

By Train:

Take New Jersey Transit to the Port Jervis, NY station (20 minutes from KMC NY) from the New York City area, including Newark Liberty Airport and New York Penn Station. You can also stop at the Middletown, NY Station, which is about 45 minutes away from KMC NY. Please note taxis and ride shares will be more expensive. 

Shuttle to/from Port Jervis Train Station

If you arrive on Friday, April 25 and/or depart on Sunday, April 27 from the Port Jervis Train Station, we are providing a shuttle service ($15/each way). Please note all shuttle times depend on train schedules as it gets closer to the event. If you book a shuttle, we will let you know if the time is adjusted.

FRIDAY, APRIL 25: Shuttles from Port Jervis train station to KMC NY
12:20pm, 6:20pm, 7:00pm and 7:40pm

SUNDAY, APRIL 27: Shuttles from KMC NY to Port Jervis train station
4:45pm (for 5:28pm train) and 8:00pm (for 8:41pm train) — stay and help with clean-up before heading home!

 

By Bus:

There are some local stops for Coach USA bus service. If you are departing from NYC, select Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Best Western — Matamoras, PA: Stops at the Best Western hotel, wait in the lobby for a taxi. (25 min away)
Old Greenville Tpl — Port Jervis First Assembly Church — Port Jervis, NY: Stops at the River City Church parking lot. This is a secluded parking area. (25 mins away)
Monticello ShortLine Terminal — Monticello, NY: Stops at the Monticello bus station. (35 mins away)
Railroad Ave — Middletown Terminal — Middletown, NY: Stops at the Middletown bus station. (45 mins away

Rideshare & Taxi Service:

Uber and Lyft services are limited in this area. Please check ahead of time as they are sometimes not available or require waiting. Due to limited service, you must reserve a taxi in advance. We recommend calling the day before or at least a few hours before to ensure taxis are available. Taxis are cash only.
